Events / Cars at The castle
« Last post by RAY on Today at 08:48:57 »
There is also another car gathering at Hever Castle on the 15 & 16 June called Cars at The Castle.

Apparently the 16th is already fully booked but some places are available for the 15th.

The castle is well worth a visit and has a spectacular Italian Garden and lake.

Sorry all, as I am not experienced with the engine side of the Pagoda at all.

I was trying to follow the wire from the radio fuse box and instead on the way found this -

Does anyone know what this cable plugged by a Philips head screw might be?

The tube itself looks like many around it, but having a screw in the end seems unlikely to be factory 😂

Thanks for any thoughts - the car seems to run fine so hopefully not that important!

I always get confused with TDC - especially in the sense that there are two TDC's, one on compression stroke (that's the one we want to set ignition timing) and one on 'the other' stroke. It's very basic, and I always figure it out in the end, but I always have to be busy with it for a while, every time I need to 'time' an engine or ignition. So if it seems like you're on TDC, you may not be on the compression stroke and you have to rotate the engine again to what looks like the same point, but it's not, it's 'the other TDC'.

Thanks a bunch guys!! The chart is very helpful. I will go with merrill's take and connect it because based on WRe's chart, it should help with cooling. I need to do it because even with the valve closed, I can still feel heat coming in. And once I looked into it, I discover that the core is also dripping as well.

Once again, much appreciated!!

I don't believe so. It lived in Germany with it's original owner from 1966-1981, before moving to California where it had some restoration work done before being sold to a lady in Vermont who kept it until 2022.
I suppose it may have been left outside in Vermont some of the time. The dry leaves and pine needdles I find in every nook and cranny lead me to think so!

hi,
so after reading other posts on tdc, i went back out an looked for the slash on my old disti.

ended up rotating the 123 180 degrees.  now the rotor and #1 line up.

Sometimes it's more convenient, because of the ignition wire length and vacuum port location, to rotate the distributor drive instead.
