Wow - saw four today- of course it was at our local mb event. The condition of the cars is getting intimidating- old beige was there and looked pretty spiffy- Richard Madison has upped the anty and has a beautiful car with a very classy color, there was a perfect white early 230 and I mean perfect- (except for the minutia Richard and I were able to find), a fourth car in the concours event a beige 280 I believe left in a huff and there was a popular show entry 250 in a light cranberry red. I think there may have been 15 or 20 other MB's but who looks at anything but pagodas

Like an idiot I forgot to look at the badge but it was a "E" reg which is '67

I saw a nice 230sl in my neighborhood in Northern VA yesterday. It actually turned into the subdivision next to mine.

So to the owner in Crosspointe, FFX Station... nice car!

Finally as of today! First time in I don't know how long. Near my home in Portland metro area, dark green, US spec, but could not tell much more. Spotted at about 5:00 p.m. on Stafford Road. Of course wondering if this person is a member?

I saw a brown late 280SL in the service dept of my local Mercedes dealership. I was bringing in my newly acquired 2006 E350 for service.

Saw around 5 beauties being beautifully restored at ROGER EDWARDS garage in wembley [ London ].
Took me a couple of hours to find the garage as I have never been there before.

Mine going in for MOT & SERVICE sooooooon.

Hey Guys...

can we stop spotting Pagoda's at a Pagoda workshop in here.... that's not really a worthwhile mention. Everyone expects to spot Pagoda's there. Only list Pagoda's spotted "in the wild", as it were!

You mean like this?

Today, 21st june 2008, on N201 driving from Hilversum to Vinkeveen, out to take some photographs for "the Book", saw a beige / papyrus white Pagoda driving the other way, across the Amsterdam-Rijn canal. Honked and waved.

Then, about 90 minutes later after taking some pictures and having a nice ride, driving back across the same bridge, AT EXACTLY the same spot saw him again, but he was again driving the other way. We both honked and waved again... how is that for coincidence?

Regrettably neither of the times did the traffic allow us to stop and exchange notes or this site. If it was you, you'll know it, so speak up!

there is another one in my area now. a Silver 280sl lhd FYJ .... ,that makes 5 in daily use within a mile radius of my house, including mine ! Navy blue ( me ) , 1 white, and 3 silver. It's like living in the 60's....or 80's.

After 20 days traveling around Prauge, Nuremberg,
Vienna and Budapest searching for Pagodas, it wasn't until changing planes in Frankfort airport that I spotted a Pagoda.... a Mechatronik 280SL on display inside the terminal..near a gift shop.

I am currently travelling in Hong Kong, on the way to China. I met up with member Eryck and his friend and fellow enthusiast Alex... the resulting picture is pretty special: two white Pagoda 230SL's on a road near the Peak overlooking Hong Kong.

And it again shows what a great group this is, making friends all over the world!

And Dick, that explains why I haven't spotted your Pagoda this summer -- you are too busy travelling to the Fatherland! I hope you had at least got to see a Wiener Schnitzel in Vienna and a Bratwurst in Nuremberg!!

Not nearly as exotic as Peter's experience, but ... today as I was heading back to Amsterdam, top-down (it was rather hot and humid today in Holland)after visiting a client in Utrecht, another (cream-colored) Pagoda was heading into the opposite direction, also top-down.

Yesterday (Friday) afternoon at about 3:30 - 3:45: A dark maroon Pagoda, top down, heading up International Drive from the Dulles Toll Road and Spring Hill Road in Tyson's Corner, VA. I had just left work and took my 230SL out for a spin in solidarity as soon as I got home! It was a good afternoon for a ride in a Pagoda...

Sunday 03 August 9:00 a.m. at the Vanderbilt Museum Invitational Car Show in Centerport, Long Island, NY: a tan? 280?SL came in behind me and turned at the "Not Pre-Registered" entry. I did not see the car again.

By the way Ole Beige took First in Class against seven other marques in the "1965-1969" Class. It was a "Concours Sanitaire" so only appearance and cleanliness counted. My car may not be "correct" but at least it's clean

On August 8th, I spotted what appeared to be an Arabian Grey 113 heading east on Maple (15 mile) at M5 in Commerce Township, MI.

And I thought I knew most of them around here! Not that one!
