I remember seeing a black Pagoda for Sale in the eastern suburbs a year or so ago on the net.  If I recall it was Black, with white interior, a great set of whitewalls and looked absolutely magnificent paintwork.  I  think he wanted 100k for it
So you might not be the only black one about town there.  Ihave never seen a black pagoda in the flesh but as my wife drives black Kompressor and they look fantastic when clean, but keeping the dust off them is a challenge even with the likes of my dark blue one.

Look forward to seeing yurs on the road

Aim is to have her done by Xmas. Then you might spot me around Vaucluse, Watson's Bay, etc taking a few snaps !

I know the car you're referring to Rob. I saw it in Double Bay a few times. The owner lives in Elizabeth Bay. It was a superb vehicle. They also own a black Rolls Royce Phantom, 2007 model !

There is one other black Pagoda, believe it or not in the next street to us here in Rose Bay. However it was done in a matt black that doesn't really do justice to the car. But I do agree that keeping black cars clean is a nightmare. I also have a green-black 1996 AMG E36. Every little speck of dirt stands out like the proverbial.

As for the 230SL, I don't think I'll have her ready by Xmas. Still waiting on some parts to come from germany, which will take about 3 weeks. So maybe see you on the road around late Jan, 2008.

Hey  Suzy

I'm just on the other side of the pond called the Pacific.   I'm sure you have some great photo opportunities up and down that pacific hwy of yours.  Wish I could do that road in a pagoda!

Hey Bob

Your better than me,  I'll have to look closer at the color codes.  Ithink midnite blue is right  and the interior an off white/biege I'm unsure as to its name.

I like a nice background in the pictures to the car to compliment it.  No other cars unless their a merc aswell!

I  think if I were in the UK  I'd have plenty of Castle Pics and old bridges

It may be 904 but it could also be 332. My hardtop is the latter and is very similar to Rob's color. Love those photos!

Hello Rob,

Your color code should read 332 which is the correct "dark blue" for a 230 SL.
904 is "Midnight blue" and was only used for the 280ies, not the earlier ones.

Nevertheless, stuningly beauty car & colour combination.

Well you guys got me beat over this one.  Will have to pull it out  in the light of day and look for the code!     Where abouts is the color code signafied?  anyone? I know there is a couple of plates attached.

You have my curiosity up.

The one interesting thing about my color is depending how it's sitting in the sun or shade many people have referred to it as black although in most pics it is clearly blue.

Rob,

you have this uncanny habit of posting gorgeous photogaps of you and your Pagoda cavorting around when most of us cannot even take her out of the garage because of snow, ice or other bad weather... are you just a sadist or is this part your service to us to provide us with a regular does of Pretty Pagoda Pictures ?  ;)

Yep the weather here in Sydney is Pagoda weather every day of the year!   except the rainy ones of course

I can't help myself,  I see a great  site or location, I pull up and out comes the camerA. Drives my wife nuts! Par.ticularly when I'm more interested in getting the right picture of the car, not the wife

I am actually a canadian lost here in oz so I can appreciate the snow but I feel for you, the frustration of not driving the pagoda for month's on end, your hard done by!! You have my sympathy

I'm glad you like the pics, I'll keep em coming.

Would love to do the coast roads in the USA one day in a pagoda, with my camera of course

Well Peter I can sympathise with you frustration as I have driven up the pacific hwy to pismo in california in a ...... dare I say a ford! Drove past no end of great photo opportunities knowing my pagoda sits across the big pond called the pacific. thats frustration.

I once drove that amazing road in a camper... but it's a bit far for the Pagoda. Hey, but there's a bunch of other great roads I've had the pleasure of driving too! Perhaps a nice subject for a new topic (Great Driving Roads)...
