Euro LED Headlight Conversion
« on: October 09, 2025, 16:26:46 »
I am having a difficult time finding the correct LED conversion kit with adapter for my Euro Headlights. I have searched through the forum and cant seem to find a description or current link to get the correct adapters and bulbs. In addition to exact adapter, I am looking for a recommendation on the bulb's output as I read many can be too bright. Any help from a recent purchase is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
John

John,

This is lifted from a post I made in May of this year, for someone asking the same question:

Quote
The subject of headlight upgrades, especially LED, comes up often.  Here's a 4-year old post from me about what parts I used to upgrade to LED headlights (which work great!).  (BTW, I believe I got the basic info from an earlier post by Peter Lesler.)

I will add two additional bits of information.  First, look at the specs of the bulbs I ordered; you may not find the same listing, but the wattage, color, lumen output, and bulb configuration are the important bits.  Second, the lights have perfect cut-off on low beam, and make a huge difference for night driving.

Thanks David,

Sadie shared a detailed email you sent him with the specifics from your previous endeavour which is very helpful.  Having a hard time now finding a US supplier of the P45t to H4 adapter.

John, I will send you a picture of the lights that I ordered and installed. I wish we had this conversation while at Pagodafest as I had an extra pair in my car at the time. I will reach out to you this weekend.

The adapter needs to be sanded a bit to ensure it fits properly. The large slot in the adapter, of the three, must be positioned exactly at the top of the headlight. Then the Osram LED will sit correctly. Peter

The P45t to H4 adapter is a very simple piece of plastic.  Another idea, if you have access to a 3D printer, is to print one yourself.  Here's one on Thingiverse that would be quite easy to print (and there are others):

One poster said that he might try printing in nylon due to the heat generated by the headlamp, though I'm not sure that LED lamps generate as much heat as incandescent bulbs.

Just a thought.  Good luck!
