1965 230 SL Sending Unit
« on: September 04, 2025, 19:03:52 »
Hi All;  Not sure of the proper name but does anyone know where I can get one of these sending units you have this sending unit for my 1965 MB 230SL.  It sits right next the Temp Gauge.

Hello, looks like the thermo time switch.  Have a look on here, they had a few for sale, check the numbers stamped on yours to see if they have one that matches, or comes close (if they haven't sold them all!)

Just checked, the original TTS on the early cars was part number 001 545 92 24, so you may be in luck if they haven't sold it

A few months ago, someone was regularly posting on the Los Angeles Craigslist offering several dozen “Thermozeitschalter” units for the W113. It might be worth keeping an eye there, as they could still have some available. These parts have been very difficult to find in Europe, especially in Germany, for many years.

I just noticed that it seems both our suggestions actually point to the same source. As you can see, there really aren’t that many of these Thermo time switches around – I even came to this from Germany to California. The good news is that the price also seems quite reasonable.
