He knows about as much as any typical long term owner. He needs to study how the timing chain works - it's not oil pressure fed or ratchet activated. That system came on later cars like the 280 twin cam.

I think 190SLs had the same door set up - full aluminium frame and aluminum skin…. Or am I wrong here?

By the way: when I get to valve clearances adjustment I always turn the engine a couple of times with the starter (with ignition off) to see if oil is dripping through all of the small holes in the oiling pipe.

I watched it when it came out and made a comment to Mr Tyrrell's claim that the Pagoda is the only car he knew to have all aluminum doors. Because my 1973 Lancia Fulvia also had all aluminum doors. But his is a generally enjoyable channel.

Yes, the early Fulvias also had aluminum doors, hood and trunk lid, the same as the Pagoda.  While not really cars, the Land Rover Defenders also had aluminum doors.  All the body panels were in fact aluminum, not just the doors, until 2007 when Ford took over and they went to steel.

I'm amazed he has managed to get this incorrect - He is supposed to restore them!

That timing chain was very loose which means all of the gears are worn out plus the chain . This is basic 101 stuff that he should know about.
