Yes, the tachometer - I assume yours does not work? Unless it was somehow converted to electronic ...

I am putting my car back together, the tachometer is not yet installed. it will be cable driven
Do you know the part number for the tachometer cable?

It is 1300mm. NLA at Mercedes, yo need to find it elsewhere. SLS would have it, so would Niemoeller probably, but you are the US, perhaps better to look for it at Authentic Classics or Bud's Benz.

Only slightly related to this thread. It is not uncommon for the rev counter insert in the block to leak oil. Many years ago, the fellows here and I chased down why mine had a bit oil seeping out. Never really went all the way away. If I can find the thread I will "tach" it on here. (see what I did there?)
