113 Rear Diff Split Boot

Having looked and read many comments from others that have performed this, the question comes up, does oil reside in the boot under normal circumstances ? And if their is oil in the boot, world that indicate a problem with the axle seal ?
Ill be doing working this weekend on this project .

There should always be a certain amount of oil within the folds of the boot.

Thanks Benz Dr. , just so Im clear, overtime then the boot will accumulate a reasonable amount of oil.
I mention because my exiting boot has a crack on-top and and I notice oil exits when driving, I suspect the spinning axle throws it up then exits.

With the car flat on its wheels there should be oil in the axle to the plug on the rear of the axle.  Use a 14 mm hex wrench to remove the plug to check the oil level.  There is just enough room to slide under the car without jacking up the car...

Yes, there is oil in the boot

Final question for the group, I see photos where the seam is at 9 o clock, others show 12 o clock.
I would think 12 o'clock would be best.

The shape of the boot makes it so the seem should be to the rear at 9 o'clock.  It will not flex properly  in the other position.

Boot is installed and came out great, as others have said, take your time and only use OEM parts.
Couple of pointers :
Make sure boot is thoroughly clean.
Pre crimp clips on workbench, but not tighten.
Use a gasket sealant, apply gently
Used std screw hose clamps. 
I added additional clips using a thick wire .
