Seem to have 2 different style door handles
« on: June 09, 2008, 07:34:50 »
I got rid of the w115 door handles of my last post and was going to use these when I noticed they seem very different, for discussion purposes, I will call them curved and straight.  This is in reference the their ends...One that has straight edges it is on the right in the first pix and the other with a curved end.  they also have diffent key openings.  Which is correct and what sides do they go on?  I know the number has something to do with the side it is used on   so
the straight # is TB041
the curved is TA064

can I used both or do I (gulp) need to by a new one

Thanks,
Bob

Not sure if they are the same on the 044, but here is the handle on my 250 SL (043).

Hello, Bob,

The TA0xx and TB0xx are key numbers for the locks I believe.
The A and B are different key profiles.

Seems like the handles are from different era cars. The ones with parallel 'jaws' (at the inner end of the push button) are later (my 280 has them). The one with the jaws at an angle is earlier (had them on my 230). These operate with the key to actually lock the car.

Any help?

So I cannot use the curved/angle one and I need to purchase a new straight one for which side?  Or are they interchangeable(drvr and pass)?
