New Dash board leather top and bottom.. how big?
« on: April 03, 2008, 15:23:07 »
Guys,
I'm very close to buying a car that's really nice except! the interior is TERRIBLE, it's brand new but very very ugly.  How big a deal is it to replace EVERYTHING including the dash pieces?!  I was ballparking $4k.. for full leather.  is this about right?

I recently replaced everything in the interior and all up it cost a bitover $7k.

This includes new seat covers, seat pads, carpet, inner door panels, soft top lid cover, dash, sunvisors, underdash panels, kick panels, windlace, headliner as well as new window winders (with new inserts), and lots of chrome (eg inner door panel top chrome strip, inner sill covers, etc, etc)

This also included new steering wheel & auto shift knob, plus new seat knobs.

I originally was just going to renew the carpets & seats. But once you do that everything else looked very poor ! So now, just my wallet is poor..........

Did you do the work yourself or did this include labor?

Like Frank, I have only recently  had completed professionally a full interior leather fitout including door trims, under dash, dash, seats and soft top lid and sunvisors recovered, plus a new soft top supplied and fitted, fitment of all new rubbers (supplied by me)for windows, doors, trunk, complete carpet set fitted. cost $7200 AUSD including all labor. Like Frank I was only going to do the soft top, looked a bit shabby inside so seats and on it went for nearly six months!

Hi Daryl

This includes labour. I got a guy to do the seat covers, carpet, dash & hardtop liner. All the other trim I did myself. It's worth getting someone to do the dash, seats, etc unless you are fairly experienced or keen !
