« on: March 03, 2008, 10:34:50 »
Went to pick up my 230 sl (the one with axle trouble) and found the exterior rear view mirror broken off, the driver side door unlocked/jimmied? and the glove box forcefully broken open!  Very sad!

Gary in Kentucky! I have lost your contact info.If you read this could you resend.  THANKS...

Tom,

Sorry to hear about your car.  It's very sad.  However it's all repairable.

I have some experience with rear axles.  My original axle is stored away for future use because I switched to a 3,27 ratio from a 280SE 4.5.  If I can help with pictures or know how just ask.  Here is a pic of the axle parts.  Do I remember correctly your problem was drive shaft related?

It happened at the shop? Did you ask the shop to have their insurance cover it?
