door threshold trim
« on: December 28, 2007, 15:25:24 »
I am trying to remove my carpets to get some rust repairs done and I'm not sure how to remove the threshold trim that holds down the top edge of the carpet just inside the door.  Are there hidden screws or does it pry out?  Thanks in advance!

Hey Pete. I am not 100 percent sure but I seem to recall that there are screws inside the groove that holds down the carpet. In my case, the carpet was wedged in and sort of crimped into this groove. Good luck.

I have the trim here and there are counter sunk screw holes  on the carpet side that holds it down but the carpetshould just slip into the groove.  see photo

Thanks guys!  Just what I needed to know.  My trim is pretty dinged up, but it's very expensive to replace.

Hi Pete,

I spoke to K&K earlier this summer about this trim.  They were going to be selling some nice repos at a reduced cost.  Maybe contact them.

Thanks Bob.  By the way, thanks for the awesome photos of your car restoration.  It's very inspiring, that's part of the reason I finally decided to get my floors fixed.

Hello All!

I spoke to Cheryl at K&K today regarding this piece.  She said that their person in Hungry is working on reproducing this part, but so far has not been successful.  Could be a few more months... :(
