On my 230SL there is a hose assembly that takes oil fumes from the top of the valve cover, over the exhaust manifold, and down to a short rubber hose. This short hose feeds into an area just ahead of the throttle body. The hose is larger at one end than the other and also has a 90 degree bend in it. I replaced this hose three years ago and it is again cracked. I only drive about 1000 miles per year. Any ideas what might be causing the deterioration? Do they usually only last this long? The P/N is 127-094-04-91.
Could it be new old stock from Mercedes that is deteriorating due to age?
