World Upholstery is currently remanufacturing sunvisors for the W107 model Mercedes.
We would consider remanufacturing the sunvisors for the W113 model if there is enough interest.

I removed my visors while I repaired the engine (about 4 weeks) and put them between flat boards with a weight on top. They came out just purrfect! Trouble is, after a while on the car, they revert to their swollen shape. It appears that the foam inside is bulging. Anyone any suggestions how to fix that?

Exactly, I would buy a pair if quality was good and the price was less than the extremely high prices that are currently out there. I would not buy remanufactured ones for the prices that are currently out there.

The determining factor is price and quality. Would the passenger visor have a mirror?

Me, too!

As I understand it, the early and later visor are different, and in more than just the presence or absence of a mirror. If memory serves, even the clips that hold the visors are different.

Would you consider doing both styles if the market was there?

It sounds like it will be a while at best before you remanufacture W113 sunvisors. I might be interested at a reasonable price, but as my sunvisors are in good shape except for some wrinkles in the right one (with the mirror), it would probably be better for me to find someone who can repair it. Anybody know such a shop in the southern California area?

I'm in, this is the worst cosmetic problem for my 230sl, but I would rather spend $500 on a box of fine cigars than give in to the overpriced NOS visors. And just for the record, the visors are different on early sl's than on the later ones, yes?

i would purchase them also. The factory sunvisors are junk. I paid 200.00 for a new one 6 years ago, and it broke the other day. The foam was junk-- the mechanism was junk-- and the color didn't even match the interior color. I think most were ivory or tan.. They should be engineered better,if they are reproduced.

The orig. Mercedes visor colour always match the roof
lining, not the Leather/MB-Tex interior.(For example
ivory). Purchasing both types,early & late, does not
require looking for NOS, as they are still available
at any Merc dealer. Both come with brackets. Up to 2004
Merc deliverd the passenger side with mirror. Since
2004 they come without a mirror on passenger side. The
quality of the new orig. Merc visors is 100 % perfect.

One would presume that the prices of their present w107 visors would not be disimilar to any future w113 visors they might offer.

I think something in the $150/pair is more in the right price bracket for me.

Forget the $640-$700 that is currently the going rate for the pair, it is absurd and desperate to even entertain such a sacrificial rate...

I agree, priced $150-200 for the pair and I would purchase for a 230SL tomorrow.

Having bit the bullet for visors, I can tell ya it only hurts for a little while. It really cleans up the car, though. I have seen otherwise nice looking 113s, with floppy, wrinkly visors that won't stay put. For these folks, I hope a less expensive version comes along. I suppose a couple hundred for a set would be appealing?

PS I got mine from either the old Star Quality or Miller's in 1998 and they don't have the passenger mirror. That bummed me out a bit.

I ordered a "cream" driver's side sunvisor from SLS on 9/25 for 193,17 euros (US$240.00 or so maybe?). I will post a pic when it arrives. They claim it was in stock. It looks like pagodenteile would have been a better deal, though.

I noticed recently that the 190 E and the 300 E models have sunvisors that are very close in size and shape to the 113 cars. The shaft that goes into the sunvisor on the 190 E and 300 E is larger than the 113 unit but I am sure an enterprising person could find a way to overcome this problem. The major giveaways to the change would be the lighted mirrors on both the drivers and passenger visors. If you do not have to have absolute originality this may be an economical alternative to the high prices and scarity of the originals.
