The general consensus seems to be that the tool kits for W111 cars is the same as found in the W113---vinyl or canvas with snaps part number being 1125800007. A review of dealer parts books shows that the wraps seen in W113 actually first appeared in 1961 in W112 cars. I have the 9/69 dealer parts book for my 1969 280SE and it clearly shows by drawing and part number 1865850001 under the tool kit section that my car is supposed to have the same canvas bag that came with the 190sl cars up to 1963, not the wrap seen in the Pagodas or W112 cars. I can see how the very first W111s might have the old canvas 190sl bags, but why would they have those clear up to 1970s? Does anyone know of any service bulletins or research that would dispute the dealer parts book? I would rather carry the nicer W112/113 tool bag, but that is not what is shown in the dealer parts book as correct for W111 cars. Does anyone have a dealer parts book for any W111 that shows a drawing of the W112/113 wrap or do all W111 parts book show the 190sl bag?
