I propose organising a Pagodas event, the “Gers Pagoda Days,” for the second half of June 2027. The exact dates will be confirmed soon. The event will take place in the Gers department, in the Occitan region in southwestern France, which could claim to be one of the most beautiful in France, between Bordeaux and Toulouse. It is being organised with a local classic car association.
It will be a three-day, three-night program, starting on a Wednesday afternoon and finishing on a Saturday morning, based at a single hotel for the entire stay, in a 15th-century building. The parking for our cars will be secured during the night and technical assistance will be available in case it is necessary. The entire hotel will be on private function, with no other guests.
The road book will take us through small medieval villages such as Lectoure, La Romieux, Saint Clar, then Sarrant, once classified as “the most beautiful village in France” and other small villages, not forgetting, of course, one of the most famous in the world, the village of Condom. The route will take us along stunning secondary roads through the rolling countryside of the Gers.
On the program: gastronomy, visits to historic sites, some of which were built almost a thousand years ago, and a visit to a local winery.
Those arriving from the north will pass through the Bordeaux region. They will have a choice of two routes, the western route starting from Royan, taking a small ferry across the Gironde and descending through Médoc, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, and Margaux. Or the eastern route, from Blaye, Bourg to Fronsac, Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, Cadillac and Sauternes. These are all prestigious names that you may have read on the labels of bottles that have surely left you with fond memories.
Due to the limited capacity of hotels in the region, the number of participating Pagodas will be limited to around 25.
