Just finished and is available for sale on my site
www.wiredoktor.com an ultra RARE MAIN WIRING HARNESS for W111-280SE LOW GRILL 1970. After investigating on internet there are about 700 cars only of this version.
This one has been meticulously restored to its original glory with some minor improvements as this was the last edition of the W111 and there was only few things to make better.
The harness came with following characteristics:
- LHD, AUTOMATIC transmission (late version with only kickdown switch and selenoid, no iddle switch or constant speed selenoid as on early w111)
- ELECTRIC TACHO, yes this one has the 6 pin plug with the signals for an electric tachometer
- INNER CABIN main fuse box, on driver footwell, as came on W108 or in the W111-3.5
- Late steering switch with 14 pins. This one has the steering switch used on later w108 that controls the high/low beam switch, wiper speeds 2x, and of course horn.
- late cold start control logic with two standard 4 pins relays, and just one trigger cable to the CSV and FES. No ground signals to either of them
- Embedded Hazard/flasher relay circuitry. No additional sub-harness for the hazard/flasher relay. It comes right on main harness next to main light switch
The only modification made to this harness was to have larger T30 lines and the terminals ready for a BOSCH AL69X internally regulated alternator.
At customer request ONLY ONE MOD comes to my mind that can be done easily on this harness and will look original, and that one is to have INTERMITENT WIPERS. That functionality can be incorporated on this harness by using the IMPULSEGEBER (pulse generator) relay that came as. Option on w114 an w108.
