Decoding Auftrags # to find a dealer

Hi All

Using the Datacard Auftrags # I have asked MB Germany if they could identify the dealer that my SL280 was delivered to, they said they didnt have that record... Does anyone know if there is a list of dealers anywhere that could identify a dealer... my car was delivered to Aust...

Number is 7901 1628... So its a 67 order delivered to Aust, but i was hoping to locate the dealer...

thanks but that only shows country codes... need a  deeper level to get the dealer codes..

I think it was determined that there was no dealer identification in that number

The best way to determine is if your car came with some documentation. My car came with the service manual that has the original owners name and address and service details.

There's a chance I can find it if it was ever listed for sale in a newspaper. Do you have more details?

Thanks Jack, but its an Aussie car... My plan is to scan every other car that comes for sale in Aust and the ones with books i can match with the dealer number, see if any have my number!!!  ta Paul

Is it showing as Aust delivery or, like mine, tourist delivery, picked up and driven in Europe then back to MB for delivery out of Sydney.
