Early Cold Start Valve Ponton W128
« on: July 05, 2025, 10:32:27 »
I am looking for early type of Cold Start Valve for Ponton W128. Or at least the coil part (with the connector).

Mine is damaged beyond repair - the bakelite connector part is broken off, causing fuel leak.

Hi Paweł,
If the coil doesn't work, here's a link to a seller on eBay you can check:

Thank you for your kind attention!

This, however, is the coil for the later style valve. Early ones had valve rod as a separate part, it was pulled into the coil when actuated. So the coil had empty channel inside and no push rod sticking from it.

Just weird design of the early valve.

I bought just the coil part from www. MB-neuteile.de. A very patient and reliable vendor, can recommend.

It may not make very much difference, but I've never had a problem starting one of these cars hot or cold. Working CSV seems not to matter that much.

So did I, but I was happy to find out it would start easily without it. I ended up blocking the line to the CSV so it wouldn't leak fuel into the engine.
