Technical Sessions at PagodaFest 2025
« on: June 23, 2025, 19:41:33 »
PagodaFest is just 3 months away and I am excited to see everyone from previous PUBS/PagodaFests and meet new people.

I am putting together the technical sessions for the event, and would like to ask you the members what topics you would like to learn more about related to our cars while attending. So far we have someone presenting on...
-Converting to a 5-speed manual transmission, their experience and what it took.
-Hands-on 'Linkage Tour', to learn how to adjust the linkages and make our cars run better.

I am open to anything that will provide Pagoda ownership value to our members, so if you have an idea or always wanted to learn more about something let me know.

Other topics in the past have included...dry ice blasting, Hagerty insurance, Selling/estate planning for cars, short fuel pump issues.

See you in the Smoky Mountains!

Vander,

Hi.  I recommend once you collect enough ideas that you post them in a poll for voting.

I won't be there, but I recommend what I always enjoyed the most - hands-on demonstrations and lectures with cars (or parts!) for props.  Hopefully there is a place or way to do this.

- DIY maintenance (oil change and filter canister seals) (fuel filter change) (diff fluid change) (auto transmission service)

- 230SL unique mechanical, maintenance things (injection pump lube) (water pump lubrication) (thicker sway bar) (rear drum brakes) (etc)

- Fueling tests (flow rate at return line) (fuel pressure before mechanical injection pump) (fuel flow from pump to injectors) (injector pop and spray test) (tools)

- Ignition & timing tests and tools

If we have enough willing experts to come and share and PRESENT we can do some of these. Remember we're at a hotel, not Blacklick or the Farm in Charlottesville, so there will be a limit to what we can do in a parking lot.

Michael,
Of course that's the case, I'm just responding to request.
