1969 280 SL, Moss Green over Cognac, 4-speed manual
Very well running Pagoda that underwent a complete restoration in 2013 under prior ownership. Have pictures from the restoration and the work performed, as well as all receipts for work performed since restoration. Exterior is a 9/10, and the paint was wet sanded to perfection by prior owner. Interior is also 9/10 and MB-Tex is holding up very well. Car is fully European look (including km/h speedometer), while data card states is an American spec car, so at some point it was converted (pre 2013 restoration). 7486 kilometer (4650 miles) since the restoration. We acquired car in July 2020 from Pagoda expert (EAS in Waltham, who is willing to reference the car), with the vision of having a top notch driver, not a Pebble Beach winner. The car has worked very well, and catches positive comments everywhere it goes. Engine rebuilt by Metric Motors in 2021 after bad gas caused loss of compression. Always starts and runs perfectly, partially thanks to A123 electronic ignition. Body panels, hardtop, and engine are number matched to data card. Notches and fender spot welds all intact. Radio works (has aux input) but reception is not great. We use hardwired Bluetooth speakers instead (easy to remove). All instruments, gauges etc work. Breathable indoor car cover, spare tire, tool set, jack, mesh wind blocker, hard top stand w/cover, manuals, and other materials all included. Car has been stored indoors and only driven in the summer, in nice weather. Only known issue is that left turn signal automatic return not working, small blemish on trunk chrome strip, and that the lock cylinders are not all same for doors and trunk. Clear MA title in hand. Selling because it’s “too nice to drive” she says.
