I saw this on Bring a trailer.  How far will the bidding go?

This looks like a lot of work to me!  I wonder what it will sell for?

Badali,

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1961-porsche-356b-33/

A friend recently bought a shop/warehouse for his cars which included a number of “collector cars”. This Euro 250SL was included along with a Euro 230SL that I mentioned in another thread several days ago. My friend is selling off the cars that are not of interest to him. Just ahead of this 113 he ran a very rough 356 Porsche on BAT.  The 356 sold yesterday for 19,000!

Tomorrow we will see if these crazy prices continue.

I guess some people like to spend their money.  The soft top is in the car and if complete is the most valuable piece on this one.  Since the engine is missing and grill among many other parts I don't think this one is more than a parts car.

I think you are right. The current high bidder may have other ideas for the car.  At the 8000+ level the usable parts available from the carcass could be fairly expensive.

It looks like Rod Emory was the purchaser.  One of his creations recently sold on BaT for $802K.   I don't think he's going to lose any money on the deal.

$8500 for the 250SL -  that sets the lower limit for projects -  BIG projects which may or may not have most of a motor.

Good luck to the new purchaser.

Hi,

This appears to be a Euro car with a lot of rust. The pictures of the undercarriage don't really show how the floors are, and they may be partially/largely rotted out. If you're interested, I would definitely recommend getting detailed pics of the undercarriage, etc. But I advise you to skip this one as it's way too rough and rusty, and find a cleaner project.

Best,
Cole
