230sl sunvisors
« on: December 06, 2023, 07:51:20 »
Howdy all!!!!

Would anyone know categorically if these sunvisors would be old replicas or originals? My 230sl is an early 1964. Note the embossed pattern in the vinyl. This is not mbtex or leather.

R/Joe

PS. I did wonder if perhaps this is the inner cover and in fact the mbtext outer has been removed.....
PSS. No clips either - I'd think not original

I've never seen that pattern on a visor, but there are others with much more experience in originality than me.  (There's a separate forum for originality questions.)

Joe,

I'd guess reproductions.  Neither the material nor the visor shape nor the mirror cut-out shape looks like the originals I've seen.

Thanks David - and no clips either so not original I'd think too

I agree not original. There is a member in London that can get aftermarket visors that really do look original except for the heat seal along the edges. But if type want original, go to MB Classic Center. I do believe that visors are back on their shelves, however not with passenger side mirror. Bob
