Blower fan wheel rpm (A0008350704)
« on: November 21, 2023, 18:31:57 »
Hi there!

I made this blower fan (A0008350704, Fan wheel, heater) for a friend of mine. The part is almost ready to use. The last step is the balancing. Does anybody know the rpm of the heater blower motor?
Thank you in advance,

Babi

I made this blower fan

Hello, very impressive that you made this part.  Would you explain how you made it?  Is this a printed part?   I don’t need one (yet) but interested in how you made this.

Thanks

It was made by 3D printing. I have been 3D printing for almost 1 year. The machine I am lucky enough to use is an SLS 3D printer (Formlabs Fuse 1).

The first step was scanning the existing parts, followed by work in CAD software- the most time-consuming aspect. Once I had the 3D models ready, I chose the right material to be used. PA12 is a strong material with high durability and high impact resistance. Furthermore it is relatively cheap compared to other SLS materials. After printing I painted it. As you can see in the pictures there is a brass shaft. It was made on lathe.

So now I am looking for parts like this and other similar ones for old cars. I think in the future I will be able to produce them.

Thank you for the work you are doing here. Depending on how much you charge, and how well the printed parts work, I think you might get a good take up for such parts via 3D printing since these blower fans (and other 3D printing suitable parts) are either not available, or cost way too much when provided by the OEM
