Best Head Gasket for a 129-980 Engine
« on: June 15, 2023, 20:00:37 »
Mercedes no longer sell the A1290101820 head gasket. I see that Elring is the only maker available but the Elring gasket doesn't have copper around the coolant passages. Does anyone know of a new old stock Mercedes A1290101820 head gasket or another good replacement brand?

Elring was the OE manufacturer of the head gaskets. I would assume that anything they offer would work properly. All the head gaskets for the M130 engine are Elring. If you are concerned and cannot get anything else of your liking, use copper spray on the head gasket. A thin film on both sides will do

Ask what Metric Mechanic uses.

Probably uses the Erling w/the spray.
