Time Switch Relay
« on: May 10, 2023, 21:29:28 »
I have a 1964 230SL and believe I need a new time switch relay (round) as noted in this picture.

Does anyone know where I could purchase one or is there an alternative option?

Dear Brandon

Let me think in a solution for you.  Normally on all the wiring harnesses that pass through my hands for refurbishing, I do modify the logic of the wiring loom so that it resembles the one used on later 250/280SL.

That is an option, to service the harness.

The other possibility is to build a subharness to plug into your actual timed relay socket and then use a regular HELLA, ISO compliant timed relay instead.

Let me know what would you prefer to do.

After 50. Years if your harness is original, is impossible that it will not have its weak points.   Cinderella needs always your attention.

Solution found , harness built and product sent Time Switch Relay

Dear friends

For whoever is on this same situation with a non working 1sec timed relay, here I found for Mr. brandini a solution built on HELLA timed relays.

The relay should be bought and sent to me at any circumstance since there are different models, and not all, even looking exactly the same do the same thing.

There are DELAYED ON relays, DELAYED OFF, etc.

Look at the picture with the solution.  Harness for 120$ plus shipping.  The relay cost about 65$ plus freight and taxes.

Best regards
