Last time together

Drove the red 230SL today to the shipping company's terminal (CFR Classic) to start its journey to Rotterdam and then participate in the 60 Year celebration in Nürnberg. John Bernardi kindly followed behind and then we drove back together.
Here is a photo of the siblings together for a last time. The 230SL will stay in the family after the event.

Al,

I guess it's off to a new and exciting chapter for that beauty.  It's been said before, and so true, that we're just temporary custodians of these cars.  I'm sure your family will take great care of it.  Are you lucky enough to have plans on attending the big 60th birthday party in Nurnberg??

Leaving it with you? Makes sense since the trunk can hold at least two more cases of your favorites.  ;D
Perhaps while in Nürnberg we can negotiate short term rentals for replenishing runs to Ribeauvillé
