My 1966 230SL turned 56,000
« on: March 12, 2023, 21:35:34 »
Took my 230SL for a drive today.  Odometer turned 56,000 miles which is actual mileage since new.  Ran great!  Never missed a beat!  Hard to believe it is 57 years old.  Might sell it some time but I enjoy driving it too much even think of selling now.

Congratulations on that mile stone. Your car is just getting broken in. I believe you are the original owner of that car? I am in the same boat although mine will have its 55th birthday in sept. I know it will have a new owner some day, hopefully one of my children, but i still enjoy the occasional drive too much to start thinking of saying good bye to it.

Yes, that is correct.  We bought it new in February, 1966.  Also unrestored except for an almost flawless professional paint job.

Congratulations on 57 years of ownership!  I dare say you must be the “plank owner” among us for longevity in driving a single owner Pagoda.  John (49er) is not far behind.

My car passed the 54 year mark a month ago and the odometer will cross 55,000 miles on the next outing.  These cars continue to be such a great pleasure to drive well after their 50th birthday!

Are there other 50 year owners here?
