Hello W113 community,

I’m doing a full restoration on my 250SL and trying to make from scratch some missing metal parts. Does anyone have Fuel Pump Shroud cover drawing/ blueprint and would be willing to share that?

I think they're configured differently depending on which fuel pump you have, the early tall version or the later short. If you post a photo of your fuel pump we can let you know.

The more difficult part will be the rounded-off bottom. The rest should be fairly straightforward.

For the restoration of my '61 Alfa Romeo I just bought a small English wheel, and a bead roller, as that car will need various more complex metalpieces to be fabricated.

Hi. Why recreate? Enjoy a personal challenge? Parts sourcing a big challenge in Latvia? Perhaps member from eastern Europe (Pawel66 maybe?) can send you a new or used one from Poland?

(I had a Latvian history professor in college, an interesting character with lots of stories. I also had a Russian geography professor. She and her military husband escaped during the cold war (1970's). Also, lots of great stories.)

Thank you, guys, for your feedback. Personal challenge is kind a built in to the restoration process by default, however this process brings a lot of joy and excitement 😊

This particular part is quite easy to recreate, I have all equipment for it, as long as I would have a drawing.

@DaveB a fuel pump on my SL is short version.

OK mine is different so no good for a template. The originals have a weak tab here - would be stronger if you make a separate tab spot welded or riveted on.

Did you get any template? I am about to remove my fuel pump to check if my filter is clear. I can make a paper template while i have the shroud removed but only if you have not had any response.

My car is a 1970 280SL with a short pump.

Ryan, If you end up with a good drawing for manufacturing one, please share it with us. If it's something I could hand to a local fabricator, I'd have one made. OR, if you figure out how much it would cost, perhaps you can make a few extras to sell?

Dear Pinder,

Would it be possible to add some extra measurements to your drawing? Please see picture I attached. Could you please also indicate what is the metal sheet thickness 1mm or 1,2 or 1,5? If possible could you still check what is outer and inner diameter?

Could you please help with one number? In your drawing top measurements from left to right are 76mm - 59mm - 104mm and what is the fourth number 85mm or 55mm?

Dimeter is 180mm if you put cut the template and join A and B points together.
The small hole at the bottom of the cover is 20mm.
4th number is 55mm.
Sheet metal thickness is 1mm.

Ryan remember my template is show as the inside of the cover so if you were to cut it out you would move Point A and Point B towards you to make the cylinder shape. Also it is not a complete cylinder but distance from A to B is 123mm.

Also remember that 2 of the 3 tabs are welded on for some reason and one of them is bent at 90 degrees
