Lampentopf-Einbaulehre

Have you ever seen this?
I've never seen that before.
Could not bid on it - was too expensive for me for a just "nice-to-have" item... :(

Load-up does not work again, so here is the link.

As the ad says, it's "Fur das paßgenaue Einschweißen der Lampentöpfe äußerst hilfreich".

To install (weld in place) the steel headlamp buckets that sit behind your headlight assemblies. I imagine this device aligns it properly with the fenders/rest of the body. Would be a nice to have for people who do Pagoda restorations for a living I suppose.

I did see this item in the old tool cataloge I have from Mercedes-Benz I would really like to get the measurements of one and what material is used. It look like you use the four holes to screw it in place.
I did go to the e-bay page and am I correct in that  the final price was 400 euros?

Hello alltogether,

First of all, I apologize. I did not explain what this tool is good for. Yes, Cees is right, it is (was) used for the correct installation of the headlight housing.
I would guess it is made of diecast or aluminum.

No Bob, the final bid price was 115 €uros [:0](about 130 - 140 $$) but this was already - as I believed - a little to much for a just "nice to have" item. :?

(OK, let's try to upload the pic of this lamp housing aligning tool again - just to save the picture for our database before it disappears from ebay ...)
