Looking for advice or counsel from anyone with experience using SLS ( Germany) downpipe to resonator adapter to allow a clamped vs welded joint between down pipes and resonator .

1970 MB 280 SL , auto: replacing original ( I think) complete OEM all welded exhaust system from exhaust manifold to muffler with aftermarket : down pipes, resonator, "S" pipes, rear muffler and exhaust tips .  ( all from Buds Benz).

I have managed to remove the original exhaust , all in one piece ( I have a lift….impossible without) and am hoping to re-install piece by piece using a clamp system vs welding up the entire exhaust as was done at factory.   The new after market muffler has a clamp system, as does one side of resonator…but other side ( downpipe side) looks to require butt welds.  Am hoping the SLS adapter allows this butt weld to be replaced with a clamp system?
