Auto Trans Modulator Linkage
« on: January 19, 2023, 17:42:23 »
Hello can anyone advise please. Investigating the lack of kickdown on 66 230SL to find the modulator linkage was not connected at the connection to the modulator lever arm (see photo previously added by Pawel (thank you) and hi lighted) further investigation and we find the ball socket has not just 'fell off' but the ball has come out of the lever arm on the gearbox and it is a pain to gain access to even with the tunnel inspection plate removed. Question is does the modulator lever arm somehow come out of the gearbox modulator plate easily without removing the transmission or the modulator as at the moment there are no oil leaks...

thanks Neil

Sadly for you getting that lever out means removing the transmission.
