Roof/top handle pouches
« on: December 17, 2022, 14:29:14 »
I recently commented on an old thread asking if there were any suitable repro pouches out there, or if anyone would be interested in a group commission to have some made.

Looks like the vintage euro parts guys have just released the following, they seem like a faithful copy of the original.... At a price!

Posting here in case it interests others.

I decided to buy one of these for everyday use. I have my original and it’s in perfect condition but i no longer carry it in my car in an effort to preserve it as long as I can. Here’s a pic of the two together.  There are some subtle differences but at a casual glance can you tell which is the original and which is the reproduction?

Len,

I do not have the original but I would say the top one is original. Much smoother than the repro.

Yep, the texture is what gives it away and the fact that it’s true black as opposed to “dunklegrau” which DB seemed to favor and used repeatedly from trunk to convertible storage area.

That said, it’s still a very good reproduction and the best I’ve ever seen.

Authentic Classics also recently released a version. The images aren't the best quality:
