Metal rocker cover breather tube
« on: November 05, 2022, 03:00:21 »
Anyone have an idea where I can source one of these please - it is the metal one with rubber elbows on each end.  I have checked SLS and they only have plastic ones. Mine is metal and has a crack in it where it runs through the bracket. I have made a temp repair with JB Weld but would prefer to replace it with a new one.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello George, can you take a picture of the section of pipe you mean?

My 1965 car should have a metal pipe, and i always thought it was metal, but pained black, now i believe it's plastic.  However, it looks identical to the metal one in Garry's top picture, with a flat nut/bolt on top, not like the usual plastic pipes as in the 2nd picture.  I have seen the metal pipes for sale, so they seem to be available, i'm just curious about my plastic pipe, which i haven't seen on any other cars

Hi Bob,
I`ll try for the photo, but it does not have a bolt and "banjo" fitting on the rocker cover - the rocker cover has a screw in stubby tube over which fits a rubber tube that has a right angle in it. The metal pipe in question slides into this and is held with a clamp about 35cm away (also holding the fuel line for the cold start device) then curls sharply downwards to meet another rubber tube that is part of the intake manifold (sure proves the picture saves a 000 words idium :))

Hello George, Authentic Classics have the pipes from the different engines, and also the banjo type pipe, which were fitted on the earlier cars

Not sure if they still offer a discount to members, worth asking
