What a wonderful story about our beloved Pagodas.  It eloquently describes what we all already know: the w113 is a timeless design with imaginative engineering and safety solutions that make it still relevant almost 60 years after it’s debut

The last line in the article says it all "If you're still not convinced, drive one. It won't take you long to come around."  ;D

Great article -  I find that as I jump between my Pagoda and modern vehicles (including my 18yr old Dodge 4X4) that I forget how advanced the Pagodas were for their time.

I just picked up a 1965 Ford F-100 to restore which is the same era of the pagoda but is so far behind in everything.  For example that truck still has 4 wheel drum brakes.  Getting into and driving the Pagoda in the day must have been a real experience with fuel injection, 4 wheel disk brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension, those amazing seats........

I think I better go for a drive up the coast in my Pagoda right now to take it all in..

Great story.  Does anyone know if it is, or will be, in the print edition?   It would be nice to have in hardcopy to go along with the last article they wrote about the pagoda in 1969.   I guess they've been busy and it just took them a bit to get back around to covering one of the best cars out there, ever.

Awesome article!  Thanks for sharing.
I do agree with one of the article's commenters that the only thing missing in this Pagoda article is a pic of the car with the Pagoda hardtop!
