Hazard/emergency switch
« on: May 19, 2022, 06:33:12 »
Hi
Looking to retro fit hazard/emergency light switch in my 230 SL.. feel very vulnerable without them.. looking at ones on eBay .. they are off W115 (PN 0336403001)
Or W114.. I wonder what the original part number was for 250-280s?
Pictures are of a couple I’ve seen…. Thank you

Dear friend

This is the right one.  Works on many MB models.  You just have to modify your harness in a certain way to bring the signals to the right spot.

There are also some ready subwiring harnesses that can be produced (I sometimes fabricate them) that plug directly on the central instrument cluster connector (12 or 8 pin) and ready.

Attached some pictures.

This the link for the right electronic hazard relay flasher. NEW.

Thank you for that info.. that Bosch switch, is it also a relay? Or do you need a separate relay?
And, my friends US SL250 emergency switch flashes red inside the cockpit ( for want of a better word) .. does this do that? Not that it’s a deal breaker, but would be nice if it did…

Dear Bernie

The Hazard relay is a switch and a relay. It contains all that you need.  Just buy the red lighted round knob and you are done on purchases.

Best regards

Bernie:

This is the ready to plug sub harness for the hazard relay switch.  You plug one end on your female steering switch port at the base of the steering wheel on the main wiring harness. Then you plug your male steering wheel connector on the female end of this sub harness and then the bridge is done.  Only another easy connection on the ma8n fuse holder and your are ready to go.

This harness works on cars with 8 pin connector for the steering wheel switch.

If interest write me directly.  I can sell you this one.

Best Regards
