Three of us brave the wet weather to go for a drive Jimmy Christo, topless, myself and met up with Steven Akehurst, all members here.

My guess is that it wasn't raining all that hard during the drive, I have few friends who only put the top up when it is actually pouring while they are actually driving, protestations from she who must be obeyed notwithstanding!

Nah. California Coupes don't have soft top covers, but weren't there some roadsters produced with hardtops only and an empty compartment under the cover?

Correct, my 280SL was bought that way by the first owner in Florida. Look for code 415 on the data card:

That is exactly what it is and Jimmy has just bought a soft top frame to fit.  Could have bought a new Pagoda with what he had to pay to get one.
