Is there a difference between an early 250 and a 280 window regulator.

The part number changes at chassis 02963. But the note says "exhaust the stock of old part number first", which indicates they would fit. But you may need to confirm with someone who tried it, actually...

The window crank shaft can be different. The earlier models had screw-on window cranks and the late 280s had clip-on cranks. That changes the shaft configuration. However, if you end up with that difference, you could get around it by also changing the window crank arm.

Meyer gave a good lead that also make me go back to parts list and notice that I looked at the wrong part - I looked at the shifter, not the very regulator where the shaft for cranks is.

Again: for the window regulator (the part with the crank shaft), the part number
- changes at chassis 043 02963
and then again
- at chassis 044 015518

The cranks changed at chassis 043 02870 and then at 044 015518.

Indeed, looks like need to be prepared for cranks change.
Sorry for my mistake before.

Thank you both. I have since got some part numbers I could use 1137250402 and 1137250602.

It's a long shot but does anyone have a new old stock one for sale.
