Ashtray lid
« on: October 12, 2021, 16:25:31 »
I would like to get hold of the Ashtray lid!
I see so many cars that misses the lid and there is only complete Ashtrays to be found as spare parts.
Where are all these all these missing lids?
It seams as if the lid gets loose rather easy and there is struggle to get them back on, but is it that difficult?
If someone out there has or can do a 3-d scan of it to share here in the forum would be great.
Even better if someone with contacts to re-manufature the lid as part, would be most preferable,
its such a waste to trow away the Ashtray when replacing it for one with lid.
I don't think I'm the only one with these thoughts.
Look forward to the comunity input on this matter.

Unfortunately, I am not an engineer, but I think, that it is much cheaper to buy, for example, such reproduction for a discounter price (as far as I know they take this part from Poland, where the labour costs are much cheaper ) than to do it by ourself in Sweden or Germany. I think so...

BTW: I do not related by any family or business connection with this company.

I'm very well aware that a new ashtray is available and there are a manufacturer somewhere, but it feels wrong to throw away the ashtray for a missing lid. I'm willing to pay 75% of what a new cost just to get a lid, there ought to be a market to sell the lid. As I don't smoke I have covered my Ashtray with black electrical tape, just to get the proper look as if there was a lid, it will do for now.
