heater flap
« on: September 25, 2021, 21:21:26 »
Hi,
Anyone know where I can buy a heater flap at a good price. Saw this on EBAY for almost $400 dollars. Need the right side.
The cable flange is broken on mine.  :(
Thank you.

PN is A 113 830 02 42 if you need ot search.

They are sold in pairs here: https://www.sls-hh-shop.de/main/en/mercedes-230-280sl-w113-/83-heater-system/1-pair-mix-air-flap-p-135385 for EUR 300

I see then in pairs at Bud's Benz for $425.

Here is better, EUR 230 for a pair: https://oldtimer-ersatzteile24.de/Right-Air-Flap-for-Mercedes-Pagoda-W113

I glued mine together...

I ordered a left-side one from Marcel Kappen (in the Netherlands) a few months ago for €115, and was very happy with the service.  Here is the right one for the same price (plus shipping).  Overall, I paid about €147 shipped to the US.

Didn't someone here have a file for 3D printing this part?

Thank you all for the replies and links.
Still a lot of money....I am too cheap. Rather spend the money on other visible cosmetics. I made the tabs with metal plate. I used the left side as a template to get the angle. Will use small machine screws to attach this to the flap, drill a hole and get a pin to fit with circlip (hopefully Ace hardware). Some pictures attached. Once I complete this, I will post a picture.

I did. I modeled them and I have no problem sharing them. When I was looking for the flaps, the only ones I could find came from Mr. Fiat and he was asking $ 450 each. At $250 for a set, I probably wouldn't go thru the trouble. They will need a little work after, such as inserting the pins.....
Let me know.

Hi Dirk,
Are these the molds in the picture? You just made the tabs or the entire flap? I don't clearly understand what you modeled.

Thanks.

The pic may be a bit confusing, that’s how the come out of the printer. They still have some support material attached.
Below is a better pic.
I modified the seal face a bit in order to use a simple seal instead of the custom u shaped seal.
