W113 trunk lid torsion bar spring

Dear friends

The trunk on my 250SL does do stay open by itself.

I guess the torsion bar spring is not installed the right way. Anyone has detailed photos and explanation of how to do it right?

Hi,
the procedure is described in detail here: https://www.sl113.org/wiki/Tops/SoftTopTrunkHingeRemoval.
There is a tool to remove the torsion rods from the trunk hinges, otherwise it could be dangerous.
