Oil pump - Clearences
« on: July 26, 2021, 10:44:18 »
All,

What is the max clearance on the oil pump.

Between the side and rotor and between rotors?

And if it is to big, can you just change the rotor?

Thanks,

Bart

Far simpler to mill the housing slightly than source a new set of gears.

According to the technical data book, 1966 edition, for the 230sl oil pump "clearances between oil pump gears and pump housing" are 0.025-0.057 radial, and .050-.092 axial (mm).
