How do you get the key cylinder our of the housing?

If I understand, the chrome cap is just pushed on and a good pull should remove the key cylinder from the housing.  Please let me know if my understanding is correct.

Hi,
the chrome cap is secured with pins
and can only be removed by drilling out the two pins. In addition to the chrome cap, these pins also retain the key cylinder. You have to drill deep enough but not too deep otherwise the key cylinder will be broken.
