What to do, what to do!!
« on: June 23, 2021, 08:00:32 »
Sorry folks, you will be fed up of me by now!!

However, I’m in a conundrum.

Almost finished re-trimming the front ‘blade’ of the soft top. I am rather pleased with myself, on my third attempt I thought I was there.

BUT, shock, horror, it looks as though the frame brackets that fit onto the ‘blade’, sit under MB tex, not on top of!!!

The question is, Would it be considered sacrilege to mount the brackets on top?

It might just be because it’s 1:37am or I’m reading this in the dark on an iPhone 🤣 but I’m not sure what you are asking. I can’t make out the red text in the photo.

I attached a photo of my top before I trimmed the fabric if that helps. Or can you restate the question?

Sorry, nicked the photo from another part of the forum, so please ignore very small print in red!

So, I have cover the front ‘blade’ in MB Tex, second photo.

However, looking at other pictures, an example I ‘stole’ from another part of the forum (1st picture), it is evident that the two ‘arms’ that join the frame to the front blade, sit under the MB Tex

I’m therefore how sacrilegious it would be to mount the  the two ‘arms’ on top of the MB Tex, thus avoiding having to unglue the work I have already done and hoping the material will still reach where it needs too. Another point maybe worth mentioning is that I spent ages polishing the ‘arms’ thinking they were visible!,

No one will no but you.  If you are OK with it fine.  If it is going to bother you do it over.  I discovered a trick last year that helps with MB-tex in tight areas.
