My latest toy
« on: May 09, 2021, 15:41:54 »
My new toy is a 1978 super beetle Karman cabrio. Originally a Californian car, imported in the early 90s to Holland where is was fully restored. It came to Cyprus last month, it is such fan to drive.... also I didn’t have to spend a penny to fix it.... found nothing wrong..... best thing is that you cannot be caught speeding... I post some photos below.....

I like those ATS wheels! I have them on an old Porsche.

Beautiful , clean car, Nicolaus.
I love the drumming sound of that air cooled engine.
Brings me back to my youth.
Good luck and have fun with it.

Yes indeed the engine sound is addictive in the beetle. I sometimes catch myself starting it just to hear the engine drumming.....

Yes! The air-cooled flat 6 right behind the seats in my 914-6 gives me goosebumps every time I start it!

That is a really nice car Nicolaus !
And the climate & surroundings in Cyprus are perfectly matched for driving your VW.

Wishing you many years of fun with your VW

Thanks Franjo, summer is now starting to hit us hard with daytime temps over 30 deg C and steadily climbing over the next 3 months before they ease again in September.....so beetle is now becoming an evening car when it is a lot cooler....

But definitely very enjoyable car to drive.... and no possibility of speeding fines on the highway..... it can hardly exceed the speed limit  :D :D
