Does anyone have a recommendation for rebuilding an automatic transmission?

I can't offer a shop/person, but a caution. The parts for the auto transmissions are not easy to get. When I had my transmission redone 3 years ago or so, my mechanic had the proper bands and clutches. He indicated that they were difficult to get. So make sure whoever is going to do it has the parts in hand.

I recall hearing good comments on Sun Valley Mercedes Transmissions in Pacoima, CA.

Just had mine rebuild at Sun Valley Mercedes Transmissions in Pacoima, CA. They specialize in Mercedes transmissions only. Cant tell you how its working yet but very happy with the visual outcome at that point.
