WTB - Becker Europa front bezel badge
« on: February 14, 2021, 16:27:17 »
Good Morning.

I am on the hunt for the Becker Europa badge to fit in the die cast bezel for this radio.

Best if with the snap tabs, but let me know whatever you have.

Approx dimensions = 3.48" (88.5 mm) X 0.23" (5.8 mm)

If you have and interested in selling, please PM or      ibex-engr@comcast.net

Thx
Regards,
Tom

Snap tabs?  I'm not sure what you mean.  These fit in from the back of the bezel, there isn't really any snapping that I know of...

So Scott - if you zoom on jpg, and within my yellow box, and within the bezel, on both R & L of bezel opening there are two horizontal slots. These are in the plastic artwork plate behind the bezel. I assumed that the Becker badge had tabs on that pressed into these slots.

I have removed the chrome die-cast bezel and looking closer, you just might be right. There is evidence of failed adhesive. Thanks

BTW - next winter, my project is to get into that dash/instrument panel and correct heating levers and some other obvious problems. Looking forward to that.

Have you done it?
Regards,
Tom

No, that's not how it works.  The horizontal slots are for the tabs that come through for radios with search bar tuning.  It's just how they made the pot metal, it has nothing to do with the plastic name bar, except the plastic name bar will have corresponding slots for name bars on search-tune radios.  Yours will look like the one that says Europa TR, except it won't have "TR".  See pics...

And it's not really adhesive that is the issue.  The plastic name bar fits in the chrome bezel and the base of the name bar is against the pot metal housing that is behind the chrome bezel.  There is no where for it to move to.

Ahh. Got that. Thanks.

I have a few leads for the name bar, so I'm off to the races.
