Wiring loom
« on: February 09, 2021, 13:06:36 »
I am putting my 250sl ( RHD )together after extensive restoration.
Come to another sticky situation.
The wiring loom which extends from passenger side footwell to the boot. I am trying to put the side panel. I am not sure whether the loom goes behind the side panel or sits outside on the side card.
I am putting couple of photos.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Hi Balimatharu,

I have a 280SL LHD, where the cable goes in the Alu Cover rail from front to the back of the car.

Thanks Peter for a prompt reply.
Let me get it right. Did you mean that to lift up the long aluminium trim and there is room under there for the loom to be laid all the way back?
That seem to make sense. I have been wrecking my poor brain.
Is it ok if I ask you another question about cabin courtesy light

Hi Bali, correct.
The photo below shows the wire routing in my 280SL.
