W11x. Multi Switch
« on: February 08, 2021, 20:26:30 »
Hello,
The Multi Switch on my 1969 W111 280SE Coupe sometimes does not engage and/or cancel.
Will a switch from a 1972 W108 280SE Sedan work in my car?
I have searched here and also on the web, and cannot find the answer.
Thanks,
Galen

The easiest way to answer that is looking at the Mercedes on-line parts book. It shows for W111 cars up to 025, uses #002 545 99 24. W018 cars look like they use 003 545 79 24. So I would say no based on that. I believe the internal mechanism for the W111 unit is similar to the pagoda and can be repaired as described in the tech manual here. Mine does not engage for the most part and one day, I will attempt the fix.

You can file a little bit to make them stay on and work again.
Check your steering wheel is on straight (indentation up? On a lhd) as this affects cancelation.
