rubber bumpers for glove box door
« on: January 24, 2021, 05:34:44 »
i know this is trivial but...does anyone know where to get those bumpers for the glove box or know the correct MB part number? The rubber bumpers at Authentic Classics (000 987 1840) are too big and the part numbers I found in an earlier post (110 987 0539 & 115 987 0240) are no longer valid. thanks all,,charles

A 110 987 04 39 replaced with

A 110 987 05 39

Available at Mercedes dealers 72 hours. Cost about $5 a piece.

They fit quite tight, but they fit. You may grease with vaseline or apply some soap/dish washing liquid the cone a bit to slide it in. I pushed it in from outside with a tip of an allen 5mm or so.

I was thinking more of a local one if you happen to have one in your city.

I was kidding a bit. This is more general, not just the rubber bumpers. I think shipping in this case would be very non-expensive. I think there are this kind of small dilemmas there. In this case, if you are from Europe, if you have some order coming anyway from SLS - that would  be the most economical way. Second is the one you mentioned, third MB, I think.

What I started being careful recently is that sometimes these small items (or bigger items) are cheaper in MB than in some of the internet stores or ebay. I always check that...

It is valid for sure, at least here. I checked the availability and price. I will double check for typing mistake in a moment.

Just double checked. A 110 987 05 39 it is.

Yellow dot means 72 hours availability. I understand there may be differences of availabilities between the US and Europe, but not in validity of part number in the system...

To continue this wild goose chase. It looks like ... but who knows?
p/n A 110 987 05 39 is indeed no longer available in the US.
But p/n 000 987 18 40 is available for $0.77 ... and no shipping if you pick it up the dealer.  ;)

I bought some not long ago but I had to cut a slice out of the inboard edge so the glovebox closed properly.

thanks for checking Pawell. I guess they're just not available stateside/USA. Every query on an MB site yields the same message Alfred got -Rubber Buffer - Mercedes-Benz (110-987-05-39) DISCONTINUED PRODUCT No Longer Available For Purchase. No worries,, I'll trim down the ones (000 987 18 40) I get from Authentic Classics just as Shvegel did.
